HERC and the Connecticut Chapter of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (CONN-NAHRO) are providing training and technical assistance to Housing Authorities and property owners regarding C.G.S. Section 8-64c which addresses resident participation in housing redevelopment.

HERC conducts the CHFA required 3-Hour Pre-Closing class every month. The classes are free-of-charge. The class curriculum provides an overview of the financial, legal and practical topics homebuyers need to understand during the purchasing process and prior to the closing of the loan.
HERC conducts Landlord Education Classes free-of-charge to purchasers of 2-4 family homes in Connecticut. This class is required for all purchasers of 2-4 unit multi-family homes financed by CHFA. The classes provide detailed information on the technical, financial and practical aspects of buying a multi-family house and the responsibilities of being a landlord.
